At the Sabot Hill House, Tiger swallowtails (state insect of Virginia) feeding in rain gardens planned through a close collaboration between Watershed Architects, their client and Lou Verner of DGIF.
This rain garden strategy was incorporated not so much for storm water management purposes, but more for habitat restoration to mitigate the impact of building on the site in the first place. There are 3 total strategically placed around the building.
