Located in the heart of Richmond’s Fan district, 1417 Grove Avenue is a phoenix rising from the burned-out shell of a 1920’s row house. On track for LEED certification, its reconstruction celebrates the form and character of the original structure while integrating high performing, healthful building practices. Low energy design is enhanced with substantial investment in renewable energy technology and water harvest, while occupant health and well being are supported through non-toxic finishes and biophilic systems, such as an interior living wall and a roof garden.

The first residential interior living wall in central Virginia is up! Watershed collaborated with SG Designs to create the two-story vertical garden, which is composed of ELT EasyGreen Living Wall System modules. The wall receives plenty of daylight through a large skylight and windows surrounding the atrium.
